A rookie mistake October 21, 2018 By grumperina Leave a Comment View this post on Instagram I made such a rookie mistake, you guys. I attached the neckband and was like, hmm… that looks so dainty, it can’t be right. ????????????????? . . . You see, when the pattern says “1/2″ seam allowance” that is NOT THE SAME as making sure your serger is nipping off 1/2″ with the blade! . . . So far, I’ve made this mistake on the shoulder seams and the neckband. Not worried about the neckband so much (and it will look better once I top stitch it with the coverlock), but the shoulder seams will affect the armscye and setting in the sleeves. I am still hopeful that the shirt can fit, however. . . . Pattern is #favtee by @patternsforpirates #patternsforpirates #p4p. Fabric is knit jersey by @pattyyoung for @rileyblakedesigns, #acornvalley collection #pattyyoung #modkid #rileyblakedesigns, purchased at my local fabric shop @crosscutsewingco #crosscutsewing. Much fussy-cutting on this one to make sure the foxes were centered; so much so that I ran out of yardage and pieced the neckband together from two strips.
