Uljhan Beanie

I still don’t know how to pronounce it, but the Uljhan Beanie is now finished! It was a great little knit!

Pattern: Uljhan Beanie by Shweta Shankar Khatri (“SSK,” love that abbreviation!) of DesiLoop. I knit the adult size, which came out to be about a 17″ finished/blocked/unstretched circumference, and which fits my 4-year old, who has a 20.5″ head circumference, very nicely.

Yarn: Cascade 220 superwash, about 125 yards of both colors, total.

Needles: US 6 and US 8 Addi Turbo circs. I knit this hat using MagicLoop, which I lovehate, but mostly hate, but it’s a necessity when knitting on a crowded train.

    Nice hat! It’s pronounced:
Ul = “ool” with the oo short, as in book or look. Think of “wool” without the w in the beginning
jhan = “un”, like the vowel sound in sun or fun, with a jh in the beginning

Love the hat — but love the eager smile of the little guy even more. What a darling! Makes me smile too. Great pics.

Really nifty little hat! Love the patterning and colors. Great choice for your little guy, that’s for sure!
